Privacy Policy
A plain-language summary of what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

This is a working summary, not the final legal document. We're preparing a full policy with legal review; in the meantime this page describes our actual practices.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, university email, and the role(s) you select (student, tutor, or both).
- Tutor application data — for users applying to tutor: a CV, the courses you want to teach, and the grade you received in each.
- Session data — help requests you post, sessions you participate in, ratings and reviews, and message history within a session.
- Usage data — basic logs (timestamps, pages visited, IP, device/browser) for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To run the matching, scheduling, and rating flows.
- To verify tutor applications.
- To send you transactional emails (request claimed, session confirmed, reminders, review nudges). You can opt out per category in Settings.
- To investigate abuse, debug issues, and keep the platform secure.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run ad networks or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't share your reviews until both sides have submitted theirs (sealed mutual ratings).
Who can see what
Tutors can see open requests in their approved courses. Once a tutor claims your request, you can see their public profile (name, rating, session count, approved courses). Reviews remain sealed until both sides submit.
Your choices
- Email preferences — opt out of any notification category in Settings.
- Data export & deletion — email support@peerlinkhub.com to request a copy of your data or to delete your account.
- Tutor profile — you can step down from tutoring at any time; past session records remain for the other party's history.
Data retention
Account and session data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal identifiers are removed; aggregated, anonymized session metadata may be retained for product analytics.
